LULI LOU
This is a creative space I've dedicated to share my love for all things ink and paper.

The Luli Lou blog is named after my late maternal grandparents, Luli and Lourdes.

I'm Joey, the girl behind it.

I post on Tuesdays and occasionally on Fridays since 10/01/2021 ♥︎

January Bullet Journal Layout | 2023 Bujo

Philippines

Yes, these pens made this page looked like I painted on it!

Hello, welcome to my first monthly layout of the year.

It wasn't my intention to make it this colorful, but I bought these pen set on a whim and wanted to make sure I get my money's worth. And here we are.

January sports a very trendy retro style using the Scribbler Colored Gel Pen in Vintage set paired with an equally trendy, retro font I traced to lessen WIP frustrations. 😅

I'm excited to share my layout this month. Let's begin. ♥︎

cover page

Originally, the cover photo was just the month name in its full-on Bright Retro glory, but one day, I thought, perhaps some colorful backdrop would elevate the page. I'm not sure it did, but I'm still happy by how this turned out.

(You may notice a few "writings" and those are from the page before it, my Self-Care Rhythms page. This is because the colored inks are too wet and thick, so that tends to be the result when writing over it.)

monthly overview

Because I will be filling this up with a lot more colors and notes, I've decided to keep the layout rather plain and open to writings. I kept the characters (both letters and numbers) as outlines. I've also used the Sakura Pigma 01 for the numbers since they're so much smaller.

quote board

When I saw this, it really spoke to my soul. That sounds really cheesy and corny, but it's true. This is from Our Secret Place Online⏤follow them here for uplifting Christian content on Instagram. ♥︎

For the quotes board, I experimented with using the Dark Gray pen to fill in the letters and online with the brighter colors. I kept my original plan for the cover page of just keeping the font and nothing more. I like it; this layout makes the quote really stand out.

dashboard

Because I intend my 2023 to be a year of more yeses and let's gos, a dashboard is a good place to tally my wheres and whats. (There's a lot of plurals in that sentence. I digress.)

I noticed that I only have two categories here, so I added a little drawing on the bottom to make up for the space.

weeklies

I designed my weeklies in a way that I can maximize the space to write down tasks and reminders. In my previous bullet journal layouts, I tend to crop spread on each side for month view, goals, sleep tracker, and habit tracker. I liked that layout still, but this time I wanted to try something new. :)

entertainment wrap

I wanted to be playful on this page by mix-and-matching the brighter vintage color. I thought this idea turned out cute (in my opinion). This is a light break from all the pages before it, literally and figuratively.

To be honest, I was really not having my top songs played on my Spotify Wrap because I don't remember listening to the songs listed that much. I was expecting songs from Encanto to be on the list, but no, I have this song from a new, talented artist called JVKE, whom I barely listen to. So I've decided I will call the shots on all the entertainment materials that kept my sanity together for the month.

habit tracker

I love a good habit tracker. This month, I've dedicated a page for it. I kept it simple and straight to the point. For this one, I gave a bit of spotlight to the dark gray pen as it graces my letters solo.

This habit tracker is a check box type except for the sleep one; that one would have the boxes filled with the actual hours I've slept the night before.

And that's the end of the tour. Thank you so much for taking the time to scroll around here. I hope you enjoy. I, for one, enjoyed it as much. I started working on this one in December because I knew I wouldn't have a lot of free time with all the events and holiday get-togethers happening.

It's also my first time to use a Leuchtturm journal⏤let me know if you'd like a review on this one. (Actually, you don't have to; it's already on queue. 😇) I got this one off Amazon. I'd like to thank one of our clients for the Amazon gift card as their Christmas gift and my best friend Sheena for bringing it to Cebu last year so I don't have to pay for the US-PH shipping fee.

Have a good rest of the year, kids! ♥︎
