LULI LOU
This is a creative space I've dedicated to share my love for all things ink and paper.

The Luli Lou blog is named after my late maternal grandparents, Luli and Lourdes.

I'm Joey, the girl behind it.

I post on Tuesdays and occasionally on Fridays since 10/01/2021 ♥︎

My Favorite (Actually Creative) Content Creators

Philippines

Inspirations abound, and I thank the internet for the endless flow of ideas.

Kid, let me introduce you to my current favorite content creators. Whether you're more into TikTok or Instagram or YouTube, I have a few recommendations for you. Let me know if you already know anyone of them or you're up to check them out.

Let's begin. ♥︎

 INSTAGRAM

1. Temi Manning (@livingletterplans)

I've known about the Archer & Olive Acrylograph Pens for quite a while, but who actually made me want to buy them? Temi Manning. Temi does the prettiest palettes in her spreads, and her WIP videos just make you feel like you also want to achieve the good job she does. (FYI I didn't buy them because they're a bit too expensive and I'm not well versed with paint pens just yet.)

2. Janina Neoral (@janinaneoral)

I'm happy I stumbled on one of her reels because her content is the actual bomb-dot-com. She does outfit change transitions in heels on a walking pad. The thing that strikes me most about Janina and her partner was how many clothes they have for all the content they do.

3. Jordan Bolton (@jordanboltondesign)

Do you know that popular trend of adding an Abba song over any video to make it look really dreamy? Jordan's page is just like that but in static form. This artist just has a way of tugging a heart string with every post. He illustrates the good things in everyday life, and somehow it just makes life and living in the present worth it. Definitely a solid recommendation from me to you. ♥︎

 TIKTOK

Disclaimer: I'm rarely on TikTok so I'm not familiar with the content creators on that corner of the internet.
However, here are two of the ones I enjoy on that app.

1. Crockd (@getcrockd)

I think the best part about crockd's videos is the colors. Her combos remind me of soft summer days when we had all the time in the world to do anything and be anything. The colors and her craftsmanship surely makes her page worth following.

@getcrockd

2. fritzdoesart (@fritzdoesart)

Saving the best for last for TikTok, fritzdoesart is the content creator I can spend hours and hours on end watch do ✨magic✨.  Fine, it's not magic but color theory, but still, I'm in awe by how he can shade-match every item he features. Definitely someone to check out!

 YOUTUBE

1. Linh Trung

Linh is the student I wish I was when I was in school; she's smart, creative, entrepreneurial, and has an active social life and a love life. I always find myself enjoying her videos because they're all thoughtfully put-out and just showcases her creativity.

2. Nao

You might think this is a list of people who do the more common art like painting or drawing or whatever, but Nao is a whole different ball game. I would consider her creativity in filmmaking. She makes this really calming videos that are perfect for early mornings or working.

1. Ciara Gan

All hail, Ciara Gan. ♥︎

After she became viral when she made and painted (!) her own prom dress three years ago, Ciara has never stopped sharing a part of her life on her YouTube channel in a very creative, fun way.

LOCAL ARTISTS YOU CAN SUPPORT ONLINE

Here are artists that run Instagram pages that are worth following and whom you can support by purchasing from. Links and everything below. ✦

1. Alfajone

Truly one of the artists I always, always recommend to friends whenever I can, it only seems right to put Alyanna Nebreja here as well. She works with more feminine elements and presenting them in intricate, tasteful designs—very art nouveau.

2. Sskait

Pinoy humor is the best humor, and Sskait offers that in an apologetic fashion. I think it also makes it even appealing that the characters are so cute, even when their lines are so savage.

3. Manix Abrera

Komiks is not dead with Manix! The creator of Kikomachine Komix and all other enjoyable reads, Manix's sense of humor is wicked and very UP brand. He makes his stuff by hand before translating digitally, retaining the newspaper comics vibe that transports us to the yesteryears.

🛒 Shop here (or visit book fairs⏤he might just be there to sign your books!)

And that is a wrap, kid. Let me know which of these creative geniuses do you already know and let's bond over that. 😉

See you on the next one!
